Report on World Environment Day - 2021
World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5th June. The decade 2021-2030 will be declared as a decade on Ecosystem Restoration with the theme :- “Reimagine, Recreate, Restore” to prevent halt and the degradation of ecosystems.
The Literary committee of Himalayan college of Nursing observed World Environment Day on 8th June, 2021. On this occasion an E-Speech competition was organized on the topic, “Efficient use of Energy and Water, Responsibility of Youngsters of India to Save the Environment”. A short program took place under the guidance of Dean & Principal Dr. Sanchita Pugazhendi and in the presence of students and faculty members of Himalayan College of Nursing. A total of 11 students participated in the competition. The Competition was conducted on Google Meet and a total of 106 students of B.Sc. Nursing 1st year, B.Sc. Nursing 2nd Year, B.Sc. Nursing 3rd and GNM 1st Year had attended the event. Mr. Jayant A. Gideon, Mrs. Geeta Singh and Mrs. Shiwani Verma evaluated the competition.
The session started at 10:30am with an introduction of the event and participants spoke on the given topic. Participants and audience actively participated in the online event. The programme was concluded at 11:40am with Vote of Thanks.
