Selection Process Activity for IEEE Student Membership by HSST

The Himalayan School of Science and Technology (HSST) organized the selection process for IEEE on April 3rd and April 8th, 2024. A total of 109 students registered for the activity, showcasing their enthusiasm for advancing their technical skills and engaging with the IEEE community.

The first stage of the selection process, an objective test focused on C programming, took place on April 3rd in Computer Labs. The initial stage, held on April 3rd, 2024, involved an objective test focused on C programming. This test served as a platform to evaluate candidates' proficiency in fundamental C programming language concepts, including syntax, control structures, arrays, functions, pointers, and problem-solving abilities through coding exercises.

Subsequently, on April 8th, personal interviews were conducted in the Board Room to further assess candidates' suitability for IEEE Student Membership. These interviews provided a platform to evaluate candidates' academic background, interest in IEEE, communication skills, and willingness to contribute to IEEE initiatives.

The selection criteria emphasized not only technical proficiency but also personal attributes essential for active engagement within IEEE student initiatives. Candidates who successfully demonstrated their capabilities and enthusiasm in both the objective test and interview were offered IEEE Student Membership.

Dr. Pramod Kumar, Principal HSST, emphasized the significance of such activities in boosting the morale and technical acumen of budding engineers. He expressed those engagements like the IEEE Student Membership selection process inspire students to excel and contribute meaningfully to the field of technology and engineering.

Under the guidance of Dr. Pramod Kumar, the selection process was led by Dr. Vibhor Sharma, the Selection Process Coordinator. This collaborative effort underscores the university's commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a culture of excellence in technical education.
