SRHU distributes Nutritional Kits to 77 TB Patients under the PM’s TB eradication initiative
SRHU Jollygrant distributed nutritional kits to 77 TB patients under the TB Free India campaign.
It may be recalled that 600 patients had been adopted by SRHU earlier in the year.
With the assistance of AS Foundation, SRHU is providing treatment, examination, and nourishment for a year to these patients.
Nutritional kits were distributed to 77 TB patients in CHC Bahadrabad, Haridwar, under the initiative of Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU).
Chancellor Dr. Vijay Dhasmana informed that SRHU Jollygrant, on behalf of the Prime Minister’s TB-Free India Campaign, has adopted 600 TB patients. The University and the institution are aiding in examination and treatment of these patients by providing them nutritional kits each month. The institution aims to adopt 1000 TB patients in the future.
The Community Medicine Department of SRHU, Gramya Vikas Sansthan, and the Chest and Respiratory Department of Himalayan Hospital Jollygrant, in collaboration with AS Foundation, have joined hands in implementing this initiative.
Nutritional kits were handed over to 77 TB patients in CHC Bahadrabad. The TB eradication programme has pressed into service the services of ASHA workers for distributing the kits and conducting health checks.
The kits include lentils, porridge, semolina, eggs, peanuts, and milk, among other nutritious items.
Dr. Anil Bisht, Dr. Shivam, Dr. Afzal, and Dr. Yogesh from the Community Medicine Department examined the patients.
Since June, selected ASHA workers {TB patients} in Doiwala Block, Rishikesh area, and Bahadrabad Block area have been receiving monthly nutritional meals provided by the institution. Neelam Pandey supervised the program. AS Foundation's Hemlata sister, Alisha, Sugandha, Pawan Deep Kaur, Anil Negi, District Coordinator Haridwar {TB Program}, Sudhir, Parul, Savita, Tina, Himanshu, Sanjogita, and others have made significant contributions.
