Lt. Gen. Dr. Daljit Singh, AVSM, VSM (Retd.) is an alumnus of Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. Holds a Master’s Degree in Pediatrics from Pune University & DNB in Pediatrics from NBE, DM in Neonatology from PGIMER Chandigarh. He is a Fellow of National Neonatology Forum (FNNF), Indian Academy of Pediatrics (FIAP), and National Academy of Medical Sciences (FAMS). He has extensive professional experience spanning 40 years in Armed Forces. Some of the important positions held by him are Senior Advisor Pediatrics & Neonatology at Command Hospital Bengaluru, Command Hospital Pune and 7 Air Force Hospital Kanpur, Consultant Pediatrics and Neonatology at Command Hospital Bengaluru, Commandant, 7 Air Force Hospital, Kanpur & Principal Medical Officer at HQ Central Air Command, Allahabad, ACIDS (Med), HQ IDS, ACAS (Med), Air HQ and DGMS (Army), IHQ of MoD (Army), New Delhi. He was Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS) and Honorary Surgeon to the President of India before joining the University. He is the recipient of the Chief of the Air Staff & Chief of the Army Staff Commendations, Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) & Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM). He was associated with various research projects as Principal worker / Co-worker and a Certified National Trainer for Neonatal Resuscitation Programme.
